Celebrity chef Richard Sandoval is returning to Abu Dhabi this month in a foodie event at his restaurant, VaKaVa. If you’re after a unique food experience this holiday season, the VaKaVa masterclass and tasting menu could be a great option. Since opening at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers in 2019, The Latin American hotspot has earned a reputation for vibrant dishes, upbeat vibes and a touch of the theatrical in its execution. If you haven’t been yet, this event could be the perfect excuse to make the trip.
Sandoval will be sharing the secret behind his three signature ceviches in an exclusive masterclass on Tuesday December 28 for Dhs200 per person. The class goes from 6pm to 7pm and there’s a maximum of ten guests.

Don’t feel like being in the kitchen? You can still take part in the one-day event. There will be a five-course tasting menu whipped up by Sandoval. Dishes include tuna tiradito with aji amarillo; short rib coca with manchego cheese, jalapeño, and orange; marinated corn-fed cusco chicken; and the dulce de leche fondant with berries compote and chocolate ice cream.
The tasting menu is available on the same day as the masterclass, Tuesday December 28, from 7pm to 11pm. If you’re after a festive activity to do between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, this sounds like a good one. Let the feasting and food continue.
