Aussie grills spot Hunter & Barrel is now open at Yas Bay Waterfront

The meaty restaurant has come to the capital

Got a carnivorous craving? Want to eat like a hunter-gatherer while enjoying the modern city views in Yas Bay? Hunter & Barrel is open for business at Yas Bay Waterfront.

The Australian grills casual restaurant has come to the capital for the first time with the new spot, which officially opened its doors on Saturday December 11. Prior to the new launch, meat-lovers would have had to go to the two Dubai branches or Expo 2020 Dubai – or book a flight Down Under – to tuck into the charcoal-roasted meats and veggies. Now, Abu Dhabi is saying g’day to Hunter & Barrel.

As the name implies, the Australian restaurant is all about “hunt, gather and fire” cooking. There’s no need to venture out into the desert in search of food because Hunter & Barrel handles it all, from the gathering to the grilling. Just sit down at the communal table and get ready to feast on the popular charcoal-grilled meats and sharing platter. The latter includes open-fire prawns, spicy calamari and smoky chicken wings. Mains are signature skewers and steaks, including wagyu tomahawk and a spicy gazelle fillet skewer.

Hunter & Barrel isn’t a total throwback to caveman times because lobster fettucine and roasted chiles rellenos are part of the menu, along with dessert. Sweet options include baked pain perdu, chocolate-walnut brownie and pavlova. (They didn’t have those in the caveman days.) Additionally, Head Chef Kamil Bouloot has added new items to the Abu Dhabi menu for residents to enjoy.

As for the “barrel” part of the name, Hunter & Barrel is recognised for its signature barrel-aged craft beverages.

The Hunter & Barrel experience is suitable for the whole family with a dedicated kids’ menu, called Young Hunters, featuring favourites like mini cheeseburgers, mac & cheese and grilled chicken.

Hunter & Barrel is the latest addition to all of the exciting new openings at Yas Bay Waterfront. Akiba Dori came to Abu Dhabi for this first time with the opening of its colourful Japanese restaurant on Sunday December 12. The playful spot is known for its Akihabara neon look and unique Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizzas.

Paradiso, Asia Asia, Lock, Stock & Barrel and Café del Mar are part of the grand opening of Yas Bay Waterfront, with more places on the way, including The Lighthouse, EL&N, The Central and more.

Keep it here for all of the new spots coming to Yas Bay Waterfront, and across the capital.
