Explore the World of Illusions at Nation Towers Mall

It’s free to enter and includes a mirror room and video booth

Looking for a cool free activity to do in Abu Dhabi? Nation Towers Mall is hosting the World of Illusions: a feature show of lights and 3D objects. The show is open now and will run until Tuesday February 15 from 8am to 10pm.

The exhibit includes a dimly-lit mirror room where visitors are surrounded by countless lights, planets and colourful objects that give the illusion of walking amidst endless galaxies. The LED lights of different colours and sizes create a multiverse to wander through.

On the exterior, you can peek into the galaxy through a custom graphic design, which looks like a broken section of the wall. There’s also a collection of 3D objects placed in multiple locations throughout the shopping destination. One of these is a living head on a table, a giant fiberglass coffee prop that seems to be tumbling down, and a mammoth 3D hand holding visitors as miniature puppets. It sounds like Instagram gold.

Make the trip to the video booth and create a five to ten second video with different backgrounds. Custom-designed 3D artworks are also part of the exhibit including a life-sized dragon, hyper-realistic snake as well as snakes on ladders. Little explorers can check out the optical animals including a cartoon panda and robot dog.

The World of Illusions was originally supposed to run until Friday January 31, but it has been extended until mid-February due to popular demand. That gives you more time to snap photos and fool and amaze your friends.

Free. Until Tues Feb 15, 8am-10pm. Nation Towers Mall, Corniche Road (02 333 8288).
