New Thai restaurant San Thai Diner opens in Downtown

We have our eyes locked on the phat kra pow

Looking for something new to try in Downtown Abu Dhabi? There’s a new Thai restaurant, San Thai Diner, which looks like the perfect spot to pull up a seat and tuck into some serious Thai flavours.

The new spot is open from noon to midnight daily and does free home delivery when you order over the phone.

It’s located on Hamdan Street, next to Mister Baker, and looks like a cozy spot for a bite.

San Thai is all about delivering authentic Thai food to Abu Dhabi, and is decorated with fairy lights, foliage and just a few tables. We imagine it’ll be equally popular for dine in or takeaway.

Wondering what’s on the menu? There are loads of favourites to choose from. Appetizers include prawn “money bags” – deep fried prawn wontons served with sweet chili sauce, chicken wings with Thai herbs, tom yum soup, beef waterfall salad (our interest is piqued with the name alone) and much more.

There are five types of fried rice and four types of noodles to choose from including tropical pineapple fried rice and phat see ew noodles.

For mains we’re eyeing up the sweet and sour fish, red curry stir fry, and coconut steamed shrimp in a coconut cup. Still think you’ll be hungry? (Respect).

There are loads of sushi rolls and desserts to chomp on too. Prices look very reasonable, so you can sample loads of different flavours while you’re there.

Speaking of what’s new downtown, did you know there’s a new adventure park on the Abu Dhabi Corniche? West Bay Abu Dhabi’s Adventure Park is open now and includes a wave pool, lazy river and ropes course. Click here to learn more.

We’ll be hitting the adventure park to work up an appetite before we dig into the Thai plates at San Thai Diner.

Open daily, noon-midnight. Tourist Club Area (02 622 1620).
