Mandatory home quarantine in Mumbai will not be enforced for UAE travellers

There will be no required PCR testing on arrival, either

Passengers travelling from the UAE to Mumbai, India will not need to do the mandatory seven-day home quarantine and will not be required to do a PCR test on arrival.

Early last week, India announced that all international passengers would be required to complete a mandatory seven-day home quarantine, including those arriving from the UAE. However, according to the civic body of Mumbai, travellers from the UAE will be exempted from the quarantine when arriving in Mumbai as the UAE is considered a low-risk country.

The new procedure will come into effect starting from midnight on Monday January 17. Passengers from the UAE will also not be required to do a PCR test on arrival, but might be randomly selected as part of the two percent of travellers who will be randomly tested at the airport.

Prior to flying into India, all travellers will need to upload a negative RT-PCR report of a test conducted within 72 hours of the beginning of the journey.

All arrivals will undergo thermal screening. If you are symptomatic during screening, you will be isolated and taken to a medical facility.

If you are flying into another city in India, you will still need to complete the mandatory seven-day home quarantine. After your quarantine, you will need to do a RT-PCR test on the eighth day, which should then be uploaded on the Air Suvidha portal. If your test is negative, you can leave quarantine but should self-monitor your health for another seven days. Those who test positive will be kept at an isolation facility.
