UAE announces closure of beaches, parks, cinemas, gyms and more

The Ministry of Health and Prevention and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority have announces closures of a number of public spaces in the UAE.

Effective immediately, all public and private beaches, parks, swimming pools, cinemas, sports halls and lounges are closed.

All will remain closed for an initial period of two weeks.

In addition, all cafes and restaurants will remain open but can only reach 20 percent capacity, so a safe distance between diners is maintained at any given time. All can offer takeaway services if they want to.

The decision will be reassessed in two weeks’ time and an update will be announced.
