Dubai named third-safest city for solo female travellers

The UAE has already ranked first globally for women’s community safety

Dubai has ranked third in a study about female traveller safety.

The study, conducted by InsureMyTrip, gave major world cities a score out of 10 in terms of safety.

The results found that the safest city for women travelling alone was Medina in Saudi Arabia, with Thailand’s Chiang Mai Thailand second and Dubai third, with a solid score of 9.04.

Rounding out the top five are Kyoto, Japan and Macau in China.

Dubai’s low crime rate and women’s only sections on public transport were cited as reasons for Dubai’s high ranking.

The UAE previously ranked first in another major global study about women’s safety.

According to Georgetown University, the United Arab Emirates holds the greatest percentage of women who feel safe in their communities.

The results showed 98.5 percent of women reported to feel safe in the UAE.

That’s not all. The UAE has ranked as the fourth best place for expats to live and work.

Similarly, Dubai was ranked as the fifth best city in the world in a new report, while Abu Dhabi was voted the third most relaxing city in the world in the 2021 Time Out global study.
