This year it’ll be even easier to have your Mamma Mia moment at this gorgeous travel destination as COVID-19 restrictions have lifted.
Greece is removing all COVID pandemic-related travel restrictions for travellers just in time for the summer. If you didn’t manage to make it to Greece last year, your travel envy is about to be satisfied.

From Monday May 2 Greece is lifting current travel restrictions so tourists will no longer need to present vaccine passports, PCR test results or any other COVID-19-related documents to enter the country. Greece is also removing other restrictions within the country to make its attractions more accessible. Sounds like the perfect excuse to travel from the UAE to Greece.
Visitors will also no longer need to present a vaccine certificate or PCR test to enter theatres, cinemas, stadiums, indoor restaurants or other events. Wearing masks indoors will also no longer be mandatory from Wednesday June 1.
And if you’re looking to travel from the UAE to Greece via Abu Dhabi, you’re in luck. Etihad is launching new flights to Crete this summer with new routes launching on Wednesday June 15.
New direct Etihad flights to Crete will go from Abu Dhabi to Heraklion, the island’s capital, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Headed to Santorini? Etihad is also launching three weekly flights to the stunning island from Thursday June 16.
