UAE residents are permitted to travel overseas from the end of June

Air travel has been suspended since March

The UAE Government has announced that citizens and residents can travel overseas from the end of June.

Emiratis and those with a valid UAE resident visa may travel overseas to select destinations from June 23.

The news was announced on the UAE Government Communications Office Twitter account

Returning to the country will be subject to a number of conditions and procedures that will ‘be announced later’, according to the tweet.

Travel will only be permitted to specific destinations and those returning to the UAE must gain approval from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship.

Recently The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority UAE (NCEMA) launched a new programme to bring home overseas residents.

Those looking to return to the UAE must apply for a permit that will be approved or rejected within 48 hours.

You can apply for your permit by visiting www.ica.gov.ae and completing the ‘residents outside the UAE’ form.

Emirates and Etihad Airways have recently announced increased flights to destinations across the world from Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

A number of repatriation flights have also been scheduled out of the UAE over the past few months.
