Looking for fresh fish in Abu Dhabi? The Mina Zayed fish market has long been a staple of Abu Dhabi life, where residents show up in shoals to search for the perfect piece of fish.
In 2020, The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) and developers Modon Properties announced a complete overhaul of Mina Zayed’s souks and markets as well as the construction of a new seasonal market.
Now the Mina Zayed Fish Market is open and ready for residents to explore. We’re talking heaps of shiny fresh fish, crustaceans and other tasty sea life to nibble.
The new Abu Dhabi fish market is open from 7am to 9pm from Monday to Friday and 7am to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. It’s located next to where the old fish market used to be.

At the new Mina Zayed Fish Market, you’ll find 104 fresh fish stalls, 44 fish cleaning stations, eight dry fish stalls, four fresh fruits and vegetables stands, a supermarket and eight new restaurants. Whew.
Mina Zayed has been a massive cultural landmark in Abu Dhabi since the 1970s. Re-development of the area began in 2020 and businesses have been operational throughout the process.
Once complete, the area will feature a new plant souk, fruit and vegetable market, meat market, carpet souk, date souk and a wholesale souk. Are you ready to explore?
