Abu Dhabi gyms can reopen to the public from July 1

So can pool halls, bowling centres and yoga centres

Gyms in Abu Dhabi can reopen from July 1.

Abu Dhabi Sports Council has announced new rules and regulations to keep all gym users safe and ensure public safety.

All fitness centres, gyms, pool halls, yoga centres and bowling centres will be able to open 24 hours a day.

Sports facilities must ensure that all hand sanitisation facilities are provided, thermal scanning is carried out and all equipment is sterilised at least every two hours.

The use of Jacuzzis, showers and saunas is not permitted.

Staff must also undergo COVID-19 testing, wear masks and gloves, observe social distancing and regularly sanitise equipment among other safety regulations.

For visitors, the wearing of a mask and gloves is required at all times and everyone must maintain social distancing, carry their own hygiene kits and train individually where possible, unless taking part in a class.
