The rules for entering Abu Dhabi have changed again and now people can only cross the border with a negative COVID-19 test from the past 48 hours.
The news was announced through Abu Dhabi Media Office’s Twitter account on Monday June 29, just as the current regulations for crossing the border were due to expire.

Travel restrictions between Abu Dhabi and Dubai have been in place for over a month, initially restricting movement with the city of Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra and Al Ain, as well and across the border from Dubai into Abu Dhabi.
Over the past two weeks it was announced that people could now travel within Abu Dhabi freely and could leave Abu Dhabi to go to Dubai and other emirates, but would need to apply for a permit to return.
Now, Abu Dhabi Police and the Department of Health have announced that anyone who wants to cross over the border into Abu Dhabi must have a negative COVID-19 test, conducted withing 48 hours of trying to enter.
Results of the COVID-19 test must be shown in the Al Hosn mobile app or in a a text message from a hospital or any screening centre in the UAE that is affiliated to the National Screening Programme.
Transport of goods and mail are exempt from the restrictions.
The new announcement does not mention an end date for the latest regulations or whether the permit from Abu Dhabi Police is still required.
