Digital summer camp launched for Abu Dhabi students

Keep kids busy during school break

Abu Dhabi schools have closed for the summer and students will report back to schools for the new term in August 30.

Helping to keep kids busy during the school holidays, Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has launched a digital summer camp.

The #NeverStopLearning campaign will help to engage students while they spend time away from class and give parents materials to help continue their child’s education.

As part of the campaign, students can undertake a virtual university fair and a summer hackathon as well as keeping busy with a host of activities to be hosted on a bespoke digital platform.

Applications for the YouthTech Competition open on July 9, followed by a hackathon boot camp on August 17. The boot camp, will run for four weeks. To apply, click here.

“Our parents and students have worked so hard to complete the school year in extraordinary circumstances and they deserve great credit for that,” said Amer Al Hammadi, undersecretary at ADEK.

“We understand that this summer is very different with limited options for entertainment and socialising. We wanted to provide our youth with a variety of initiatives to keep them active and engaged in a fun and compelling way regardless of their interests.

“The #NeverStopLearning campaign reinforces our commitment to supporting everyone within the ADEK community,”
