In June, the Abu Dhabi authorities put a border patrol in place to help control the spread of COVID-19 in the emirate.

Various measures have been  in place since then, with the most recent being the need to show a negative coronavirus test from the previous 48 hours to be able to pass through.

But now, the have announced that laser-based DPI tests will be done at the border, which will determine if you can enter the capital.

The news was shared on Abu Dhabi Media Office’s official Twitter account.

Those with negative results will be able to pass through, while anyone with a positive result will be asked to return home and get a full PCR swab test. If that is negative then it’s still possible to get through the border within 48 hours.

It is also still recommended that people have a PCR test before trying to enter Abu Dhabi.
