Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways to reintroduce flights to three Saudi Arabian cities

Flights to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam to resume in October

Etihad Airways is set to resume flights to neighbouring Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia recently announced that the ban on international travel is to be lifted.

From October, Etihad Airways aims to resume flights between the UAE capital and the Saudi Arabian cities of Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam.

In 2019, Etihad operated 8,404 passenger flights to Saudi Arabia and back carrying 1.3 million passengers.

“Saudi Arabia is a key market and we enjoy a special relationship with Saudi through our codeshare agreement and an extensive maintenance programme through our Etihad Engineering division,” said Ahmed Al Qubaisi, senior vice president of government, international and communications at Etihad Aviation Group.

“With travel restrictions being eased and borders reopening, subject to the lifting of international restrictions, we look forward to resuming flights to the Kingdom in October and once again, connecting Abu Dhabi to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.”
