This week, the UAE has become the first country where the number of COVID-19 tests conducted exceeds the total population.
More than ten million tests have been carried out this year, with tens of thousands taking place every day.

In August a total of two million test were carried out, as the UAE ranked first in the world for the number of tests conducted per capita.
As part of the weekly media briefing about the pandemic, Dr Omar Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, spokesman of the UAE Government, updated the country on the latest measures.
And he reminded volunteers for the UAE vaccine trials to take preventative and protective measures including wearing face masks and practicing social distancing.
”Taking the trial vaccine doesn’t necessarily means a person is far from infection of the virus,” said Al Hammadi.
Taking the flu vaccine ahead of winter is also advised by the UAE government to help efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the winter months.
