When will Guggenheim Abu Dhabi open to the public?

The museum on Saadiyat Island is progressing

Saadiyat Island is already home to one iconic museum but the Cultural District is just beginning.
In the coming years, Louvre Abu Dhabi will be joined by two more museums, each with a façade equally as stunning and architecturally challenging.

Both Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum are set to open their doors on the island to offer more cultural experiences and further establish the UAE capital as a global cultural hub.

According the recently published Future Cities report by HSBC, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will finish construction in 2022.

The 50,000 sq ft structure, is said to be “on track” and construction of the building has started on Saadiyat Island.

While the museum is yet to be completed and has not yet opened to the public it’s still managed to make a cultural contribution.

A series of public programmes have been launched by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi to showcase work by a number of local and international artists.

Videos with the artists, panel discussions and talks by Guggenheim Abu Dhabi can be watch on the Abu Dhabi Culture YouTube channel here.
