Abu Dhabi opens 18 new DPI laser testing centres on the border

New centres to ease flow of traffic into the capital

The Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee (NCEMA) has opened 18 new DPI laser testing facilities on the Abu Dhabi border.

Located on Al Falah Road near Ghantoot, the new centres will help ease the flow of traffic into the emirate and help regulate traffic.

NCEMA has also approved plans to open new lanes at entry points between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

At the new Al Faya Centre the 18 stations will provide tests 24 hours a day to make it easier to enter Abu Dhabi.

At time of writing, the regulations for entering the emirate of Abu Dhabi are as follows.

The time for a negative test result, to be shown at the border entering Abu Dhabi, has been extended from 48 hours to 72 hours.

Those staying in Abu Dhabi must take a second test of the sixth day and a third test on day 12 if remaining in the emirate.

Quarantine for those travelling internationally to Abu Dhabi or who have been in contact with a positive case has been reduced to ten days from 14.

A PCR test is required on the eighth day of quarantine to achieve a negative result before exiting quarantine.

Volunteers in the National Vaccination Programme and volunteers in Phase III clinical trials who have an identification mark of the letter E or golden star on the Al Hosn app are exempt from the regulations.

They are also allowed to use emergency vehicles lanes when entering the emirates.

For international travellers, a ‘green’ list has been shared for countries around the world that can travel to Abu Dhabi without having to quarantine.

The list will be updated fortnightly and can be found here.
