New Al Fay Park opens on Reem Island Abu Dhabi

The public park is now open

Abu Dhabi is home to loads of public parks perfect for a stroll or a picnic.

And now there’s even more green spaces to explore, as a new public park has opened in Abu Dhabi.

Al Fay Park, located on Reem Island, has officially opened to the public.

The park is part of Abu Dhabi Governments plans to “promote healthy living and build on the emirate’s status as a world-class place to live”.

The 27,500 sq m park is the first urban park that focuses on bio-diversity, and it’s home to 2,000 types of local flora including the UAE’s national tree, the ghaf.

Using smart irrigation systems the park is set to use 40 percent less water than traditional gardens.

Al Fay Park has been landscaped to sustain a forest-like ecosystem as well as being home to pathways and play areas for children.

It’s also home to sports facilities and courts to offer the community on Reem Island more places to spend their free time outdoors.

We’re looking forward to checking it out ourselves.
