COVID-19 drive-through hub opens in Al Manhal

New test centre will conduct 600 tests per day

A new COVID-19 drive-through facility has opened in Al Manhal area of Abu Dhabi.

Operated by Abu Dhabi Health Service Company (SEHA), the facility is made up of four upcycled shipping containers – one vaccination hub and three PCR test centres – and has the capacity to carry out 100 vaccinations and 600 nose swabs and laser tests per day.

Open Saturday to Thursday from 8am to 8pm and on Friday from 10am to 8pm, an appointment for a COVID-19 screening can be booked through SEHA’s app at the cost of Dhs65.

The new location brings the number of drive-through facilities managed by the health service company to six, with additional centres based at Al Madina, Zayed Sports City, Al Bahia, Al Shamkha and Al Wathba.

The news of the Al Manhal testing hub follows the recent announcement that PCR screening drive-throughs will now be open on Fridays in Abu Dhabi City and Al Ain.

Previously, SEHA drive-through test centres were only open from Sunday to Thursday in the emirate.

The majority of the centres are open on Friday from 10am-8pm, with Madinat Zayed conducting tests from 8am to 7pm.

The facility has opened to allow greater access to testing services across the capital after the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee introduced a mandatory green pass on the Alhosn app to gain access into various venues on Tuesday June 15.

Based on an individual’s latest PCR test, everyone in the capital must produce their green pass to enter shopping malls, restaurants, bars, cafes, parks and beaches.
