Wondering which new restaurants are coming to Abu Dhabi in 2021?

There are so many things to look forward to this year, from Expo 2020 Dubai to all the live gigs and concerts that are starting up again, there is so much to do, including loads of new restaurants opening in Abu Dhabi this year.

You might think Abu Dhabi already has all of its bases covered when it comes to incredible cuisine, but we never say no to the new. Here are the hottest new restaurants that are opening in the capital in 2021 still. Get your forks (and stomachs) ready.

Akiba Dori

Dubai Design District’s favourite Tokyopolitan pizzeria is coming to Yas Bay and we couldn’t be more excited. Promising chic interiors, skyline views, and cool artworks, this could be the city’s new hotspot come September.

Asia Asia

Party vibes and pan-Asian cuisine? This new restaurant in Abu Dhabi is already a favourite in Dubai thanks to its tasty dishes, top ladies’ night and banging brunches, and will be opening on Yas Bay to much anticipation. Pass the dim sum.

Cannes restaurant Paradiso

If you’re anything like us, you dream about taking a trip to Cannes to tuck into some exquisite French food on a regular basis. Soon you’ll be able to take a culinary trip to the Mediterranean without ever leaving the beautiful shores of Abu Dhabi thanks to the opening of Paradiso Nicole et Pierre at the Yas Bay Waterfront. Paradiso will be helmed by triple Michelin star chef Pierre Gagnaire and chef Nicole Rubi of La Petite Maison.

Din Tai Fung

Soup dumplings masterfully rolled out, filled with yummy fillings, and delivered to your table in a basket. Are you drooling too? Din Tai Fung, a world-renowned Taiwanese restaurant, is coming to Abu Dhabi in 2022. The restaurant will be joining much-loved Abu Dhabi favourites such as Loca, Dai Pai Dong, and Zuma in one of the city’s best places to eat: The Galleria Al Maryah Island.

Emmy Squared

Emmy Squared is set to open in Yas Bay Waterfront at the end of the year. It will be in the same area as Akiba Dori and comes from the same creators too. Emmy Squared will be serving Detroit-style pizza and sandwiches, so if you think that sounds tasty, you’re in for a treat. The pizzas are known for their square shape, crispy bottom, fluffy focaccia-like dough, caramelised cheesy “frico” crust, and signature sauce stripes. Plus there are loads of non-pizza options too.

Hunter & Barrel

Looking for a new restaurant in Abu Dhabi to “meat” all your friends? Already a favourite at Vida Emirates Hills in Dubai, this seriously cool carnivore destination is coming to Yas Bay. We’re already eyeballing the gazelle skewers.

M1 Café & Lounge

We’re getting three amazing options in one chic space with the opening of M1 in Al Bateen. Situated over three floors, the café will welcome guests on level one with casual bites, then the main dining lounge will be on level two. Head up to level three for an exclusive private members’ club, featuring two private dining rooms, a lounge and meeting room. The versatile concept is targeted to open by the end of 2021.

Pickl

Time Out Market Dubai‘s beloved burger and hot chicken sandwich place is finally setting up shop in the capital. Fans have begged for a location in Abu Dhabi so they can easily enjoy the massive sandwiches and burgers, and the time is soon. Clear your stomach.

Buddha-Bar Group and Capital Motion are collaborating on the launch of Siddharta Lounge. If you’re on the hunt for brilliant coastal Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, your wait will be over very soon. This casual-yet-classy venue already has a fan following in Dubai and we have high hopes for the Abu Dhabi outlet.

If you’ve checked out the Dubai branch of this Caribbean restaurant you know you’re in for a spicy treat. The Jamaican restaurant is heading to Mamsha al Saadiyat and with beautiful views of Soul Beach and jammin’ Jamaican favourites on the menu, we’re already feeling the island vibes.
