You no longer need to book an appointment to get vaccinated

All SEHA vaccination centres are now walk-ins

Vaccinations and booster jabs can now be received at all SEHA facilities across Dubai without an appointment.

The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has announced that children, senior citizens and residents can now walk into any vaccination centre in the capital without having to book in advance.

The DoH is currently administering the Sinopharm vaccine to children aged three to 17, while the Pfizer-BioNTech jab is available to anyone aged 12 and up.

A booster jab must be taken six months after receiving the second dose of the vaccine in order to maintain vaccinated status.

A grace period of 30 days is given to all those who have taken their second dose more than six months ago before their status turns grey on Monday September 20.

Dr. Jamal Mohammed AlKaabi, Undersecretary of DoH, said: “We continue to strengthen our efforts to maintain the health and safety of all members of the community as it remains at the forefront of our priorities, and we are committed to making COVID-19 vaccines available and accessible to all Abu Dhabi citizens and residents.

“The whole world has been fighting this pandemic for almost two years and vaccines are the most effective way in defeating it and returning to a normal quality of life.”

Authorities in the capital also recently announced that the cost of a PCR test would be capped at Dhs65, with Express services, which return results within one to two hours, set at Dhs350, or Dhs250 for results in two to five hours.

Meanwhile, two new walk-in vaccination centres have been set up to serve returning school students, teachers and admin staff in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

The dedicated centres in Mina Zayed in the capital and Al Ain Convention Centre are open daily from 8am until 8pm until Sunday October 31.

Appointments are not required, though students below the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
