If you received your last dose of the Sinopharm vaccine more than six months ago you will need to get a booster vaccine by Monday September 20, UAE authorities have confirmed.
Residents and citizens are considered fully vaccinated if they have received two doses of the Sinopharm vaccine.
But if the second dose was not administered within the past six months, they will need to have a third shot in order to maintain vaccinated status on the Al Hosn app.
Officials announced that the booster vaccine will increase immunity against the virus. There is a 30-day grace period in which to take it, after which people will no longer have green status on the Al Hosn app.

Only vaccinated people with green status on the Al Hosn app are allowed to enter public spaces in Abu Dhabi.
You will need to maintain green status to access gyms, recreational facilities and sporting activities, health clubs, resorts, museums, cultural centres and theme parks as well as universities, institutes, public and private schools and children’s nurseries.
Once fully vaccinated, the green status appears on the app after a negative PCR test result, and remains for 30 days.
If you are exempted from the vaccination you will be able to achieve green status for seven days after receiving a negative PCR result. The process to enter public places also applies to visitors and tourists, who should also adhere to the international travel protocol.

If you are fully vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, or any of the other approved vaccines, you do not need to get a third dose at this stage.
You can get your booster shot without a prior appointment at any SEHA vaccination centre.
