Disney On Ice Presents: Find Your Hero, theatre

Looking for a cool new show to see in Abu Dhabi? It’s time to forget your fears and join Disney On Ice for an adventure. Voyage across new terrorities with Moana and Maui, then dive under the sea with Ariel and Sebastian. This is one event at the Etihad Arena that you don’t want to miss. It is the first confirmed theatre show for Abu Dhabi in 2021 with organisers promising more announcements in the coming months.

Dive into a pool day at Lillet Pool Bar

Soak up the sun at one of the three Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers pools or the private beach and you can enjoy a range of light bites and speciality drinks with Dhs150 redeemable food and beverage credit. Sip and graze at Lillet Pool Bar or from the comfort of your sun lounger.

Get caffeinated at the recently opened Bee Café

Looking for a new spot to grab a coffee and a snack?The Bee Café has opened a new branch at the Department of Health (DHO) and is open to DoH staff and visitors. The café is open from 8am to 5pm from Sunday to Thursday and offers a wide range of specialty coffee options plus a variety of healthy snacks and vegan cookies prepared by Ali Al Za’abi, the entrepreneur behind the “I Can Bake” project. It is run entirely by People of Determination, and also serves as a space to promote and raise awareness about People of Determination’s contributions to society.

Go wakesurfing with Eywoa Marina Sports

If you love watersports you’re going to love this splashing activity. Eywoa Marina Sports teaches you how to wakesurf, wakeboard, or hydrofoil no matter your experience level. Experienced instructors will take you out on the water – beginners will be taught how to get up out of the water and use the tow rope safely. You will need to be able to swim at least 50m to join the class. Get out your goggles.

Have a delicious meal Cipriani

This famous global chain has a rich history, and it shines through in the whole experience. Decked out like a cruise ship, this spot next to Yas Marina is smart and slick with a beautiful terrace overlooking the yachts bobbing in the marina. The dishes are huge and worth sharing, and since Cipriani is all about Italian food we’d recommend you go for an Italian dish, though you will find a page of Japanese dishes on the menu as well.

Visit the Korean Cultural Centre

Want to learn more about Korean culture? The Korean Cultural Center in the Khalifa Park area has some cool exhibits plus a range of classes including language and cooking that take place at the centre. We’re going for Korean barbeque after.

Watch a free film with The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi

Looking for a free film that’s all about hip-hop culture? It Ain’t Where You From is premiering virtually on Tuesday September 7 at 8pm, followed by a live Q&A with the creator. The film explores the Middle East’s underground hip-hop scene and combines breakdancing, spoken word poetry, music and cinematography to capture the importance of street culture in the Gulf. Catch it on The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi website, where it is free to stream. However, you will need to book your ticket in advance and the film is rated 16 plus.
