The Warehouse

Casual tapas-style sharing plates

With a quirky interior covered in vintage grape barrels and plenty of soft leather sofas just waiting to be curled up in, The Warehouse is one of our favourite places for a night out.

Specialising in fine grape varieties from around the world, the trendy hangout also serves quirky signature dishes such as mini sliders and metre-long sausages.

But we try to keep things a bit healthy (at first, anyway) and start off with a couple of ‘jars and pots’. Neither the quinoa salad or the spicy tuna poke tacos are served in any such container, but both are tremendous.

The colourful salad contains loads of chunky cubes of purple and yellow beetroot, tasty pieces of pickled artichoke and edamame beans. It’s a brilliant combination that we haven’t tasted before, and the drizzle of balsamic vinegar finishes it off perfectly.

Meanwhile, the vibrant tacos are filled with fresh fish and topped with red radish and salad. We also enjoy the side or raw veggies and pot of guacamole.

For mains we abandon any hope of being healthy and get the mac’n’cheese topped with Turkish lamb. It’s so cheesy and creamy, and very rich. We unashamedly love everything about it. We also try the goats cheese, red onion and rocket flatbread. It’s lacking a bit of tang and the toppings don’t go quite to the edge, but the hand-rolled crispy base is superb. It’s perfect for sharing, and tons of fun.

The Warehouse shows no sign of slowing down.
