Marroush

A mid-range Lebanese restaurant more geared to the takeaway crowd

If you’re hunting for the best Lebanese in town, then keep moving. While Marroush may be an institution back in Beirut, the local branches haven’t managed to bring along the same quality and popularity. Having said that, you’ll still be able to grab a solid meal at a decent price in this quiet eatery, and the list of recommended dishes includes the hoummus and yogurt balila, the barbecued chicken, and the tabbouleh. The place also serves up some of the best fresh juices in the area, including a highly recommended melon smoothie. Service is minimal, just like the decor (which may feel clinical to some) but that isn’t a bad thing here, it’s exactly as much interaction as the late night diners seem to want. One major disappointment however is that it doesn’t seem to serve freshly baked bread with its food – something you’ll have come to expect from Lebanese restaurants.
