We don’t usually review restaurants in malls, but sometimes when you’re with your family you just need to dive in somewhere for a quick feed.
Luckily for us, we’re in Yas Mall’s Cascade Dining area, where there are plenty of great places to choose from.
Mr Greek is quiet so we drop in and take a booth.
Staff are friendly and on the ball with recommendations. The menu is easy to work your way through, even if you’re not familiar with Greek cuisine.
Prices are reasonably, too, with many of the options including side dishes.
We go for a chicken gyros, which is a plump pita bread stuffed with shredded, grilled chicken and tzatziki. It comes with soft boiled potatoes that are smothered in a rich tomato sauce.
Chicken kotopoulo is a plate of two chicken breasts. It’s nothing fancy, but they’re cooked well and full of flavour.
Sides of fries topped with feta and tomato and some penne pasta with a tomato sauce make it an extremely filling option.
Our third dish is a salmon fillet. It’s the most expensive thing we order and doesn’t’ impress as much as the more traditional Greek options.
With bread and dips brought to the table, too, we’re stuffed – and that’s without succumbing to any of the mezze choices.
It may have been a spur of the moment decision to visit Mr Greek, but we’re glad we did.
The Bottom Line
Good value, big portions and tasty dishes
