Do not come to Stars ’N’ Bars for fine dining. Surely everyone knows that, but it’s worth repeating, just in case. Do come to Stars ’N’ Bars for delicious bar food, deep-fried cheesy snacks and wholesome belly-busters.
To say we love this bar would be an understatement. It’s been the recipient of many a Time Out award, both for its food and nightlife offerings.
Each time we visit we wonder if it’s still got ‘it’. Newcomers come to the stretch of Yas Marina it sits on, after all, vying for the same custom and bringing something new to the area’s buzzing party scene. But still, the all-American sports bar prevails.
It’s down to the good-natured feel of the place, the pocket-friendly prices and constant updating of its menu and events schedule. There’s always something going on.
On this visit we take a seat outdoors and order a few snacks to share. Who can resist crispy calamari? Not us. We order a portion, squeeze a bit of lime over and devour it. There’s a hearty amount on the plate and it’s excellent. Other highlights include loaded potato skins, overflowing with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, beef bacon and salsa. Both are more filling than their ‘appetiser’ status on the menu.
As always, we’re impressed.
