This mall-based Mexican restaurant makes for a welcome break from the usual food court fare. An overhaul of the menu has brought in a few interesting dishes, although all the old favourites like quesadillas and burritos, remain, and are served up in portions so large you’ll struggle to make a dent. Indeed, dieters should steer well clear – order the apple pie and watch in fascination as the sizzling dish is brought to your table and then doused in an entire jug of butter. In fact, a few of the dishes – such as the guacamole – are prepared in front of you by friendly and efficient staff (which explains why every table comes complete with a bowl containing a whole, unpeeled avocado). Mexican flavours are there, but, unfortunately, those looking for a fiery kick will be a little underwhelmed. Cosy booths and bold decor set the scene, and it seems to be a popular haunt with families, despite being a little pricier than the usual mall eateries. If you’re shopping and fancy something other than greasy fast food, stop and indulge.
