From Time Out Abu Dhabi Eating Out 2010
It wouldn’t be too unkind to suggest that the name of this bar is rather apt, but there is something a little salubrious about Rock Bottom Café. It is a knockabout pub where men drink beer, eat fattening foods and listen to raucous loud music. When full, it is also so smoky you will think your eyes are on fire. Entertainment-wise, there is a pool table, a dart board and enough random stuff on the walls to imagine there has been an explosion in a bric-a-brac factory. If this is the atmosphere you’re looking for then you won’t be disappointed.
The menu is varied and throws up the odd bizarre option (you don’t come to Rock Bottom for lobster), but stick with the usual pub fare and you can’t go too far wrong. The burgers in particular come with enough fries to put McDonalds out of business, while the nachos are large enough to feed the entire bar. The fish and chips are reasonable and pretty good too, as are the steaks, making this a fairly decent pre-night out repast if you get there early. If not, the house band will drown out not only conversation but any thoughts which happen to be rattling through your brain at the time.
