The second Abu Dhabi venue by British celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has only been open for a couple of months, but judging by the busy tables around us and the well-populated bar, the initial buzz is yet to calm down.
The decor is super stylish and well thought out. It’s meant to be a New York-inspired Italian and it certainly feels like we could be in a slick Manhattan bar.
There’s a cool retro vibe to the place, with classic velvet booths in the dining area, and mustard yellow high stools with marble-topped tables near the bar.
It feels light and airy, too, and we can imagine that the venue works just as well as a daytime spot for a few drinks and light bites. Potted plants break up the space and one wall is taken over by greenery, offering a nice alternative to the usual Insta-friendly flower wall.
Black and white photos of the man himself adorn the walls, but somehow this is also tastefully done and it doesn’t feel gimmicky or self-aggrandising.
The beverage menu is mixed-drink heavy, with classics, low-calorie options, Italian-inspired mixtures and signature drinks all on there. There isn’t a huge list of grape, but the bar staff are eager to offer recommendations and they even run after us as we’re leaving to check if their suggestions were good ones.
The vibes are upbeat and all the staff are friendly and up for a chat. This is definitely one of the coolest new places to be.
