The only option down Liwa way (through two more hotels are planned around Madinat Zayed) and it’s not a bad one. The 66-room resort overlooks the Rub al Khali desert and is surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Spacious, well-equipped rooms are arranged around a sun-drenched pool and provide stunning vistas of the dunes. There’s also a children’s pool and playground area to keep the hotel’s younger residents entertained. During the sizzling summer months, the hotel has some excellent offers.
