New interactive kids’ zone opens at The National Aquarium

You can bring the family to Bella and Rio’s Playground

The Middle East’s largest aquarium, The National Aquarium, has an exciting new play area and it sounds like it’s going to be a splash with the kids.

The National Aquarium kids zone, Bella and Rio’s Playground, is named after the aquarium’s beloved Hyacinth Macaws: Bella and Rio. The playground can be found in the Flooded Forest area of the aquarium and is free to explore with your entry ticket.

Launched just in time for the summer holidays, the new National Aquarium kids zone is where kids can learn and discover exciting facts about the rainforest while playing exciting games.

Little ones will likely love the engaging activities, which include colouring their favourite animals and watching each animal come to life on an animated wall display. Kids can also safely interact with the live animals living in the Flooded Forest through their artwork.

The National Aquarium kids zone is not the only place where kids can use technology to interact with the super-cool environment. There’s a sand table where they can video map their own volcano, an ice-age interactive game, touch screens with fun facts, and Khalid the cartoon pearl diver.

The National Aquarium is home to 46,000 animals with 11 zones to explore. The Flooded Forest is especially fun with more than 8,000 rainforest creatures to see, free-roaming birds, Super Snake and the Hyacinth Macaws: Bella and Rio.

The National Aquarium is also running a junior marine biologist programme with activities and feedings for budding scientists. You can also take them diving with sharks.

Sounds like it’s the perfect time to visit The National Aquarium with the kiddos.
