Located on level 62 (yes, it’s ridiculously high) of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, this bar treats its patrons to some of the best views in the city.
As the lift propels us upwards at high speed, we notice that there’s a handy glass panel running along one side. This proves just how fast we’re moving, not to mention how incredibly high we’re going.
When we arrive on a Thursday evening, the tables by the windows are in high demand.
The most sought-after spots have been reserved, but we still manage to grab a comfy sofa with a vista of the Corniche.
The black and brown interior looks a little dated, but we love that every wall is made from glass. After all, it’s all about making the most of the location.
The ideal time to visit this classy bar is at sunset, when you can watch the sun disappear over the islands and clear waters surrounding the capital.
This is a place for dressing up in your fanciest outfit, having a leisurely drink and absorbing the glorious scene below you.
We decide to go for the ladies’ night package, which offers women three mixed drinks and a food platter for Dhs65.
We’re expecting the platters to be light nibbles, but the flatbreads and portions of French fries at the weekly High Heels Night Out are huge.
The coffee and mint and lime-based mixed beverages are expertly made, and the full drinks menu offers a huge range of original and classic concoctions.
It’s all very chic and exciting; we’re suddenly not tired at all after our long week at work.
Even going to the bathroom provides a different vantage point over the glittering buildings below.
