You can catch a free movie screening at NYU Abu Dhabi this week

The Seagull is being shown at the institute on Saadiyat Island

We love a good trip to the movies, but living in Abu Dhabi also allows us to go and see some alternative cinematic masterpieces as well as Hollywood blockbusters.

If you’re a bit of a film fanatic and love an arty flick then you should check out the screening of The Seagull at NYU Abu Dhabi this Thursday (November 14).

Not only is the film screening free to attend, but there’s also a Q&A session afterwards with director Michael Mayer.

So if you have any questions after watching it, you can quiz the man who created it about what it’s all about.

Based on the play of the same name by Anton Chekhov, it tells the story of an ageing actress who pays a summer visit to her brother and son, and then how drama soon unfolds when someone else joins the party…

The movie is being shown at 6.30pm and to attend all you need to do is register your interest at www.nyuad.nyu.edu.
Free. Thu Nov 14 6.30pm-8pm. NYU Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Island, www.nyuad.nyu.edu.
