See this special dance performance coming to Abu Dhabi

Akram Khan is joined by an ensemble of six international artists

Love dance? Hoping to see something creative and cultural in the capital? Then you don’t want to miss this contemporary dance performance at the Cultural Foundation.

Akram Khan, a star contemporary dancer and choreographer from the UK and Bangladesh, is bringing an ultra-cool dance performance to Abu Dhabi. The performance will bring together classical and contemporary styles to explore the world’s oldest rituals and includes an ensemble of six international artists with great variety in their dance practices: Ching-Ying Chien, Jasper Narvaez, Dominique Petit, James Vu Anh Pham, Mythili Prakash and Sam Asa Pratt.

The performance is happening at the Cultural Foundation on Thursday November 18 and Friday November 19 from 8pm to 9.30pm.

Tickets start at Dhs100 per person, or Dhs50 for students. All visitors will require green status on the Al Hosn app for admission, plus a 96-hour negative PCR test result to attend. The minimum age for attendance is six years old.

The performance is inspired by a newly discovered fragment of the Babylonian poem Epic of Gilgamesh – one of the world’s earliest surviving words of literature. The new work is a concentrated epic about ritual and remembering, where six characters trade stories, looking to create a whole picture of history.
