One of Abu Dhabi’s most popular spots for a night out is also a cracking place to catch some sports ball on the telebox. Two massive screens outside plus a number placed around the inside bar results in great vantages points of the action. And when the first whistle sounds, supporters can tackle deals on top bites as well as an eight-hour happy hour from 4pm to midnight, with pints of hops starting from Dhs40.

Don’t be fooled by the name. This place doesn’t raise the flag on sports. Walls are decorated with screens as well as sporting memorabilia, plus Andy Warhol style-skateboards. Have a pooch? Bring them along to cheer on your favourite team. You can also reach the bar via a golf buggy. Enough said.

Once you have smashed your workout at Zayed Sports City, head upstairs to this spacious American-Irish Bar at the International Tennis Centre. Sports fans can tear into a roast from Dhs60 while taking in the football on the bar’s mega screen and enjoy Dhs22 selected drinks from noon to 8pm during happy hour.
