A renovation is promised here, and one is long overdue. That guests get access to the beach and pool next door (the 200 metres past worker accommodation and power generators can be traversed by foot or golf cart) makes this slightly more appealing, but not much. There is a mundanity to everything, from the décor to the food at the Al Ruwais restaurant, to the countenance of guests. Cheap (ish) but not very cheerful.
