The perfect place to escape from it all

If there was ever a visual representation of an oasis in the desert, this totally stunning dessert resort would be the picture-perfect image.

This is the place where vacationers have the choice of feeling like a true desert explorer, with its list of outdoor-based activities to do, or just take the more chilled-out option and relax thanks to the resort’s signature spa treatments.

Travellers looking for a little adventure can try camel trekking and horse riding through the endless sand dunes.

Active guests can also try archery, desert walking, dune bashing, watching falconry shows, biking – the list goes on.

After something a little more sedate? Get ready for some much-needed refreshment at the spa. The spa includes four couples’ treatment suites, a traditional Moroccan hamman and an ice room. Along with its large pool and swim-up bar, you’d almost forget you were in the middle of the desert (but a quick peek around you will remind you soon enough).

The décor of its 154 rooms and 52 villas is brimming with rich colours and beautifully designed fabrics giving off rustic Arabian vibes.

Have breakfast at Al Waha, while you can enjoy drinks at rooftop lounge Suhail, Mediterranean bites at poolside bar Ghadeer and afternoon tea at Al Liwan. Fancy Bedouin-style dining? Check out Al Falaj, while for something extra special you can book Dining by Design for a private, bespoke dinner experience.

A totally brilliant desert escape that’s one for the bucket list.
