Watch Cruella in Abu Dhabi

Disney’s Cruella hits Abu Dhabi cinemas Thursday May 27

Do you always slay the fashion game or adore a dark comedy? Maybe you loved One Hundred and One Dalmatians as a kid, or you have a little one
who does. If so, there’s exciting news: Disney’s Cruella is marching into Abu Dhabi cinemas on Thursday May 27.

Emma Stone stars as the title character in the origins story, with a star-studded supporting cast including Emma Thompson, Emily Beecham and Joel Fry. The movie is set in 1970s London during the punk-rock movement and follows a young, aspiring fashion designer, Estella, on her path to becoming the notorious criminal Cruella.

When it comes to Disney villains, there are few who compare to Cruella. She first appeared in Disney’s 1961 animated film, One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

This is the first time we’ll see her as the protagonist of the story, and fans of her antics, fashion sense, and penchant for meltdowns might say it has been a long time coming. Finally, an answer to the question we’ve all been wondering: what makes Cruella so cruel?

Watch the trailer right here for your first insight…

The film was directed by Craig Gillespie and produced by Emma Stone and Andrew Gunn as well as Glenn Close, who played Cruella in the previous live-action adaptations. The end credits were scored by Florence and the Machine with the track Call Me Cruella.

In another trailer Cruella says, “How does the saying go? I am woman, hear me roar.” She certainly seems to be roaring and we think it’s going to be a smash.
Cruella is rated PG13 and out in cinemas across Abu Dhabi from Thursday May 27, including VOX Cinemas, Novo Cinemas and Royal Cinemas.
