Performing art streaming service Marquee TV launches in the UAE

Streaming world-famous shows from Royal Opera House, Bolshoi Ballet, Royal Shakespeare Company and more

Theatre-goers of the UAE haven’t been able to see live art performances in light of Covid-19, but this new on-demand streaming service has come to satisfy that artistic appetite.

Performing art streaming service Marquee TV has launched in the UAE, and it offers up a wealth of acclaimed shows from Royal Opera House, Bolshoi Ballet, Royal Shakespeare Company and more.

Now available through www.marquee.tv and Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV, there’s a catalogue of contemporary and classic masterpieces, including dance, opera, music, theatre, and documentaries.

So, what shows to expect? Programming includes acclaimed productions such as the Bolshoi Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty starring Svetlana Zakharova and David Hallberg, the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Richard II starring David Tennant, The Royal Ballet’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and the Royal Opera House’s Madama Butterfly starring Ermonela Jaho.

UAE audiences might be excited to learn that they can access the English dancer and choreographer Akram Khan Collection, including Giselle, Sacred Monsters, Zero Degrees and The Six Seasons. Akram Khan is one of the most innovative choreographers in the world today, expect amazing performances.

There are new performances added every Saturday, with June 13’s being Mayerling from The Royal Ballet’s most recent version of the production.
