Live music festival at Umm Al Emarat Park kicks off Reading Month

There will be music, performances, kid-friendly activities and the Park Market to explore

Umm Al Emarat Park is bringing fun activities for families this Reading Month. Gather up the gang to join in the festivities.

First up, there’s a live music festival coming to the park from Sunday March 6 to Monday March 7. Families can listen to the Paolo Fresu Trio and Spanish pianist Daniel Ligorio accompanied by the castanets of Belén Cabanes while watching dancer, Loli Molina, at the ampitheatre.

You can also visit the STEAM exhibition and the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination Exhibition taking place at the Park. Participate in a drumming circle with Dubai Drums, a music workshop by Electro Zebala and a painting workshop. Looking for entertainment for the little ones? There will also be a lively puppet show by Adnan Salloum.

Every Friday to Sunday of March Umm Al Emarat Park will also host loads of activities for Reading Month. Kids can dress up as their favourite book character and have the book narrated to them.

You can also write your own story and design your own book covers and bookmarks by joining the illustration workshop. Little ones can listen to authors hosting reading sessions throughout the month.

From Thursday March 17 to Saturday March 19, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center is organising kid-friendly activities including storytelling sessions, oud performances and painting workshops. There will also be quizzes and competitions with prizes to be won.

March is seeing the last Park Market of the season, every Saturday and Sunday from 4pm to 11pm with stalls selling fresh organic produce and handcrafted products. There’s a free yoga and wellness programme at Umm Al Emarat Park every Wednesday at 6.30pm in collaboration with Inner Space Centre, Seven Wellness and Flo Studio.

You can also catch a film with Cinema in the Park at the children’s garden with back-to-back family-friendly movies and activities such as origami, face painting and balloon making.
