Etihad Airways extends ban on inbound India flights

All flights from India to Abu Dhabi will be grounded until August

Etihad Airways has announced that flights from India to Abu Dhabi will be suspended until at least Monday August 2.

The news was revealed in a Tweet from the Etihad Help team.

The extension comes after the UAE Government announced the flight ban would be continued to at least Saturday July 31.

The flight ban to the UAE capital was expected to end on Thursday July 29, however, tweets on the Etihad Twitter account indicate it has been extended.

Passengers who have also transited through India in the 14 days prior to their arrival to the UAE will also be denied entry, even if they are arriving from another country.

Earlier this year, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced that all flights coming from India will be suspended for ten days, starting April 24, 2021 and subsequent bans have been enforced since then.

Emirates Airlines has extended its ban on international flights from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka until at least Saturday July 31.

However, UAE nationals, holders of golden and silver residency visas and members of diplomatic missions who comply with updated COVID-19 protocols are exempt from ban and may be accepted to board for travel.
