Junior ballers, listen up: The first Junior NBA Abu Dhabi League has launched in the capital.
Ready to drop some dimes? Jr. NBA Abu Dhabi League is a youth basketball league that will accommodate 450 boys and girls aged 11 to 14 from 30 schools across Abu Dhabi. Players can begin schooling the other team starting on Saturday March 5. The league will run until league finals on Saturday May 21. The Junior NBA Abu Dhabi league teaches kids fundamental skills and the core values of the game.
Players will receive NBA team-branded jerseys for games and can participate in development clinics, skills challenges and contests. The Junior NBA Abu Dhabi League is part of the global Jr. NBA programme and features boys and girls divisions. The league was launched by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and the NBA, and it will It expand to include more schools and athletes in the future.

Abu Dhabi is also hosting two NBA pre-season games in October 2022, which will be the first-ever NBA preseason games to be hosted in the Gulf. There will also be interactive fan events featuring current and former NBA players, a NBA 2K League exhibition event and NBA Fit Clinics that focus on health and wellness. The exact details about the pre-season games haven’t been released yet. Watch this space for further updates.
