Abu Dhabi pharmacies to provide COVID-19 tests and vaccines

The price of COVID-19 tests remains Dhs40

If you’re looking to get COVID-19 PCR tests or get vaccinated in Abu Dhabi, listen up. The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has announced that Abu Dhabi pharmacies are now able to administer COVID-19 tests and vaccines, making healthcare services even more accessible.

COVID-19 PCR tests are available in pharmacies starting on Monday July 25 and will be priced at Dhs40. COVID-19 vaccines will be provided free of charge to those over the age of 18.

The step will promote community health and ensures the availability of preventative vaccination services. The programme will later also expand the offered services to include other kinds of vaccinations including the seasonal flu vaccine and various travel vaccines.

Pharmacies are required to apply through the TAMM platform before they can provide COVID-19 PCR tests and vaccines. Several pharmacies have already completed DoH courses in order to do so. Once the pharmacies receive authorization, they add it to their license based on the Department’s regulations and standards.
