This chilled Mexican restaurant has recently had a revamp. The result is a more colourful and modern dining room, and more vegan and vegetarian options on the menu. But as the weather is cool we can’t resist sitting outside on the pretty terrace, which is filled with palm trees and decorated with fairy lights.
We mainly stick to the classics too, although the menu does provide some alternative mains like steaks and seafood rice. We start with a towering pile of nachos topped with beef chilli, melted cheese and beans, plus big dollops of guacamole and sour cream. It’s got a pleasant kick and its all piping hot, they’ve been generous with the toppings too, and we have to stop ourselves eating it all to make sure we have room for the fish tacos and chicken quesadillas that follow.
The latter is lacking in flavour, but paired with some spicy salsa it’s the perfect cheesy snack. Meanwhile, the baja fish tacos are total perfection.
Lightly battered fish is joined by spicy aoli and red cabbage, and wrapped in soft tortillas. It’s light but super tasty, and we wish they would never end.
We’re now more into this place than ever.
