There are all kinds of pizza in the world and we’ve eaten pretty much all the types going.
That being said, we’re always pleased to try something a bit different, although we stick to the rule of less is more when it comes to combinations of toppings.
Blaze Pizza is definitely different. Set up like a well known submarine sandwich chain, when you get pizza here it’s completely customisable and you can watch as dough becomes pizza in just a few minutes in front of your eyes.
After an afternoon shopping at The Galleria Al Maryah Island we stop by to see how it works. Turns out it’s pretty simple.
Select a base from the standard, gluten-free and high-rise options, and either pick one of Blaze Pizza’s favourites or choose your own toppings.
If you’re happy to go with the pre-decided choices, there are options with pepperoni, chicken, veggies, pesto, white sauce and loads more.
For those who want to get creative the options are pretty much endless. From tomato sauce (regular or spicy), garlic pesto or a white sauce to build on, a bunch of different cheeses, loads of vegetables, various meats, and a choice of drizzles and salad to finish.
We go it alone and keep it simple, with olives, artichoke, red onion and oregano and mozzarella. We barely have time to start a conversation before our pizza is ready (they only take 180 seconds) and when it arrives it looks great.
Neither Neapolitan nor New York style, the pie has a thin crust, is perfectly cooked and the toppings are plentiful without spilling out all over the place in a cheesy mess.
It’s a great pizza with zero fuss. There’s a lot to love about this place, it’s fast and a good standard and pizzas come in at around the Dhs45 mark.
It turns out you can have fast food that isn’t junk food after all, and with a focus on quality ingredients that have been grown and sourced properly there’splenty of reasons to try Blaze Pizza. We’ll be back.
