Bubbalicious brunch at Fairways Abu Dhabi

A laid-back brunch near the golf course

If you love a seafood barbecue (among mountains of other things) we have the next brunch for you. The bubbalicious brunch at Fairways Abu Dhabi has a massive grill and the team here certainly know what to do with it. Grilled jumbo prawns, mussels and even barbecued lobster tail build up the aroma at this buzzing buffet brunch.

The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa is located all the way out in Khalifa City, which means everyone here has come with purpose. Nobody stumbles into the Westin (this might be the most remote brunch we’ve been to) but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a crowd. In fact, as this Saturday session moves into full swing it fills up rapidly.

Bubbalicious brunch

Start with a selection of cold mezze on tiny plates, which might prompt the friendly staff to help you carry your mountain of plates back to the table. (Head down, keep walking, we’ve all been there.) The small dishes of salad and hummus are good enough, if not particularly memorable, but it’s the massive cheese selection with loads of jams and crackers that make a real impression. Tangy, sharp, mellow – whatever your poison, you won’t be left wanting.

Next up, load your plate with sushi and dumplings. Then it’s onto the grill, with loads of options from the land and sea, but we’d recommend you go for the seafood. Perfectly cooked lobster tail, smoky jumbo prawns and all-you-can-eat mussels. Yes please.

Don’t forget to leave room for dessert, which sees a brilliant sweet station piled with chocolates, cakes, made-to-order crepes and sweets. There’s also an ice cream and sorbet station with unique flavours (hello, basil sorbet) to end things on a sweet note.

Afterwards? Take a stroll through the gorgeous golf course. You’re going to need it.
