Iris

Super chic music, people and drinks with menu to match

Trendy, funky, achingly hip and de rigeur for poseurs, Iris – slap bang in the middle of super yacht territory – has a simple code. And the code is: cool.

The bar, which attracts a Lebanese faithful thanks to its reputation in Beirut, and a posse of well-heeled individuals looking for chilled out vibes and eclectic DJs.

The new menu, is now another reason to frequent this beauty spot. We find haute cuisine at surprisingly affordable price points. Inventive starters are the best kind of moreish bar snacks, such as the shrimp lollipops with coconut and lemongrass dip, the mini truffle burgers and tacos, and the rock prawn tempura.

Sushi is another delicacy handled with skill, yet sticks to the basics with summer rolls, shrimp tempura and special avocado.

But the tartares and ceviches is where Iris new fall food collection truly excels, with peruvian spicy tuna, octopus ceviche and salmon tartare served in intriguing combinations and dressings.

There is a vast variety of fish and salads on offer, though we would have liked to have seen more meat options.

Having said that, the light fish options mean that you won’t have any excuse to fit in one of the pretty desserts, and the pain perdu brioche dripping with caramel sauce and ice cream, and the fondant au chocolate are heavenly.

The bottom line The place to be seen in Yas Marina.
