Having walked away with Highly Commended awards in the Best Family and Best Budget categories at the 2016 Time Out Abu Dhabi Restaurant Awards, it’s safe to say Jazz@PizzaExpress is one of our favourite joints in the city for a fun, satisfying, pocket-friendly meal with the family.
Its menu comprises the usual names you’d expect to find at an Italian-themed eatery. The most popular item being its pizzas, which are grouped by toppings and thickness.
While the number of vegetarian dishes pale in comparison to the non-vegetarian options, the offerings are tempting nonetheless. The classic margherita is an old-favourite that is done well. The base is crisp, the mozzarella is melted and stringy, and the tomato sauce is thick and jam-like in consistency.
Our vegetarian friends will also like the pesto tagliatelle. Julienne pieces of courgette are tossed with roasted tomatoes in a fresh, homemade pesto. Toasted pine nuts add texture to the wholesome bowl.
The staff are courteous and friendly here, regardless of it being a busy brunch service or a quiet afternoon. We’ve never left grumpy, or hungry.
